when i think of people blaming the media for real life problems i think back to the rodney king case. On the night of march 2nd, 1991 rodney glen king left a friends house in los angels with two other buddies around 12:30am. he then entered interstate highway 210 in the san fernando valley of los angeles. shortley there after two cops spotted kings car speeding. king saw the cops in the rear view but refused to pull over because he had been drinking and a DUI charge would violate his parole. therefore a highspeed chase insued but ended with officers surrounding the car. king resisted arrest so the police officers tasered him twice and beat him with their batons. after 56 six baton blows king was finally handcuffed and dragged to the side of the road awaiting an ambulance. unseen by those involved, george holiday had the entire beating recorded. he went to the police with the video tape but was dismissed. he then went to KTLA and his video was broadcast on air in its entirety. this video caused many african amercians to last out agianst the police and white poeple as well. many riots and anarchy took place in the city of LA due to this video.

Good example of TV impact and how the widespread use of video cameras has changed policing.
